This cookie policy covers the cookies used on our website at https://www.walletap.com and in the Walletap app. It is part of Walletap d.o.o.'s privacy policy.
It covers the cookies our own site sets AND the cookies set by the two third-party services we load — Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel — because those are the ones your consent is actually about.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device when you visit. It typically contains information about the website itself, a unique identifier that allows the site to recognise your web browser when you return, additional data that serves the cookie's purpose, and the lifespan of the cookie itself.
Cookies are used to enable certain features (e.g. staying signed in), to measure how a site is used (e.g. analytics), to store your settings (e.g. language), and to measure advertising.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are usually referred to as first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies whose code a site loads are called third-party cookies; they can be used to recognise you on other websites that load the same service.
The cookies we use
We group them into three categories, which are the same three you see in the cookie settings dialog.
Necessary. Set by us, and the site cannot work without them, so no consent is asked for them and they cannot be turned off. They remember your language and display settings, which plan you chose, and your cookie choice itself.
Analytics. Only if you accept this category. We use Google Analytics, which sets the _ga cookies (2 years) and sends the data to Google. It tells us which pages get visited and where visitors stop, so we can fix what is not working.
Marketing. Only if you accept this category. We use the Meta Pixel, which sets the _fbp and _fbc cookies (90 days each) and sends the data to Meta. It measures how our advertising performs. The _fbc cookie is only set if you arrived here from a Meta ad. This choice also tells Google whether your data may be used for advertising.
The cookie settings dialog lists every cookie in each category by name, with its purpose and how long it lasts. That list is generated from the site itself, so it is always the current one.
Google and Meta are not our processors. Each is an independent data controller for the data it receives through these tags: it decides its own purposes and means for that processing and is responsible for it under its own privacy policy, Google's and Meta's.
Nothing loads before you allow it
The Google and Meta scripts are not placed on the page in a switched-off state — they are not placed on the page at all unless you have accepted the category they belong to. Until you do, those tags send them nothing from your visit.
They are also never loaded on the pages your own customers use: adding a pass to a wallet, filling in an enrolment form, buying a membership, or unsubscribing. No cookie banner appears there either, because no cookie requiring consent is set.
How can you control our website's use of cookies?
You decide whether to accept or reject the analytics and marketing categories, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time.
Withdrawing consent stops the script from loading and deletes the cookies listed for that category. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out while your consent was in force. We remember your answer for six months, after which we ask again.
You can also set or amend your cookie preferences through your web browser's settings. As each browser is different, please consult the instructions it provides. If you refuse or disable cookies you may still use the site, though some functionality may not be available to you.
How often will we update this cookie policy?
We may update this cookie policy to reflect changes to the cookies and related technologies we use, or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Each time you use our site, the current version applies — check the date at the top of this document and review any changes since the last version.
